From July 13 to 17, our team members Domenico Graziano, Tobias Heiss, and O. Lorena Purcaro participated in the ERASMOS Summer School on Classical Bilingualism at KU Leuven. The five‑day program explored code-switching, translation, and other manifestations of Latin–Greek bilingualism with leading international scholars.

Next to a guided city tour with the organizer Raf Van Rooy, a particular highlight was the hands-on access to rare books at the Maurits Sabbe and Leuven University Library.

In addition, O. Lorena Purcaro contributed a short talk, “Renaissance Bilingualism in Print: Greek–Latin Editions between the 15th and 16th Centuries”, as part of student presentations.

The summer school’s cross-disciplinary approaches to Renaissance Latin–Greek bilingualism deepened our team’s understanding of this integral phenomenon.
