On September 3–4, the Institute and the SRA were represented at the University of Oxford by our researcher, Domenico Graziano. He took part in the international conference “The Froben Publishing House and Roman History in Renaissance Basel,” hosted at All Souls College and organized by Gavin Kelly, Veronica Fiscella, and George Woudhuysen.

During the event, Dr. Graziano presented the paper “Dedicatory Politics: Melanchthon, Grynaeus, and Erasmus Behind the Scenes of the 1531 Froben Livy.” His talk explored the rich social and intellectual dynamics that unfolded around the Froben press at the beginning of the 16th century through the analysis of a range of manuscript and printed paratextual material.

Gathering classicists as well as intellectual and book historians, the conference offered a valuable opportunity for cross-disciplinary discussion and allowed our team to share our ongoing research in a highly prestigious academic environment.
