On 9–10 October 2026, the first meeting with the Advisory Board took place. Following an informal opening over dinner with the Board members, Florian Schaffenrath was able to give the guests, who had travelled to Innsbruck from all over the world or joined online, an overview of the developments since the SRA was established in January 2026. Alejandro Coloreu, François Ploton-Nicolet, Pietro Omodei, Teresa Grant, and Günter Mühlberger (Peter Burschel sent his apologies) were impressed by the large number of initiatives already launched during the first ten months.

A brief internal Board meeting then addressed administrative matters, before the afternoon was devoted to an overview of the content and research activities of all the SRA’s subprojects and related projects. While this inaugural meeting was largely characterised by input from the SRA team, future meetings will probably leave more room for conversations and discussions. In any case, the groundwork has been laid!
