In June, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Francesca Boldrer from Macerata as a visiting researcher at our institute. To mark the end of her stay, she presented her current research on Virgil’s Georgica during our weekly meeting on 24 June; that same evening, she gave a guest lecture on the Atlas Sinensis (1655) by the Trientine Jesuit Martino Martini. This work was the definitive geographical and cartographical description of China in Latin in its time.
