Ancient characters and comparative studies

25 years after Marcel Detienne’s Comparer l’incomparable, this conference aims to question the anachronic notion of ‘ancient character’ through the lens of comparative studies (translation, reception, literary, performance). This one-day conference will give voice to new approaches in comparative studies, in order to foster a dialogue among several generations of comparative studies.


The life and work of Petrus Arcudius

The BNF holds a 19th century copy of the archives of the Collegio Greco that were lost. This document contains a summary of the life of several members of the Collegio Greco, among which Petrus Arcudius, who worked towards the Church Union in the 16th and 17th centuries.
