The 430th anniversary of the Union of Brest (1596) was marked through the international conference II Międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa „Oblicza Wschodu”. Kościoły Wschodnie w epoce nowożytnej – historia i perspektywy badawcze 430 lat od unii brzeskiej organised at the University of Siedlce (Poland) from 22 to 23 October 2026. Patryk Ryczkowski, PI in the Sub-Project 6 Neo-Latin and the Newcomers and currently also a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Vilnius University, contributed a paper on the Basilian inculturation through the lens of Ignacy Kulczyński and his literary output.

Although it resulted from Patryk’s project in Vilnius, such a broad gathering of the scholars working on the church union from different angles was a perfect opportunity also to discuss SRA’s contribution to the research on the Uniate and Basilian culture in early modern times.
