Our researchers Antonia Foggia, Ada Migliazza, and O. Lorena Purcaro actively took part in the YRI Summer School “Print Culture and Translation in Central Europe (1500–1700): Methods, Problems and Approaches”, (Tallinn, 30 June–3 July 2026), organised by the COST Action CA23137 – PCPSCE and hosted by the Under and Tuglas Literary Institute of the Estonian Academy of Sciences.

Our PhD students presented the results of their work in the SRA within the academic panels. 

Lorena Purcaro took part in Panel 2: Prints, Ideas, Genres, presenting her research on “Learning Languages, Teaching Morals: Aesop’s Fables in Early Modern Bilingual Editions”.

Antonia Foggia and Ada Migliazza jointly contributed to Panel 3: Digital and Visual, delivering their presentation “A Digital Platform for Neo-Latin Studies: Research Perspectives, Challenges and Opportunities”.

The four-day summer school offered early-career researchers a valuable opportunity to engage with cutting-edge methodologies in the study of early modern print culture and translation. The programme combined expert-led training sessions with participant panels, practical workshops, and cultural visits to historical sites in the Estonian city. Our researchers’ contribution to the summer school  fostered meaningful exchanges with international scholars, reinforcing our commitment to both traditional textual scholarship and innovative digital humanities approaches.
