On 2nd July 2026, a group of seven team members visited the library at Stift Wilten to explore the monastery’s collection of Greek materials. The group, brought together by W. Barton under the aegis of the SRA’s Early Modern Classics project, was particularly interested in rare editions of classical works on the library’s shelves, prominent Byzantine authors…
On 11 June 2026, William M. Barton contributed to the Text and Transmission Research Seminar (TeTra) organized by the universities of Vienna and Leuven. His talk “Byzantine Letters in Golden-Age Spain: On Vicente Mariner’s translation of Theophylact Achridensis’ Correspondence” is available on youtube.
Will Barton gave workshops at high schools where he showed to pupils how we are processing old texts with the help of new technologies. On 28 January, he visited the Franziskaner Gymnasium Hall… and on 16 April 2026 the BORG Schwaz.
